Meteopolis shows weather on the Dynamic Island through a Live Activity: when a severe or extreme alert is issued for one of your cities, it sends a time-sensitive notification and keeps the warning on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island. Turn on Weather alerts in Meteopolis Settings to enable it.
What appears in the Dynamic Island
Live Activities are meant for events with a start and an end, which suits a weather warning. When an official severe or extreme alert is issued for a saved city or your current location, Meteopolis:
- sends a time-sensitive notification, which can break through a Focus if you allow it,
- starts a Live Activity showing the alert type and how long it lasts, on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island,
- clears it when the alert ends.
Moderate alerts arrive as regular notifications, and minor ones only show inside the app, so the Dynamic Island stays free for warnings that matter.
Turn it on
- Open Meteopolis → Settings and switch on Weather alerts.
- When iOS asks, allow notifications.
- In iOS Settings → Notifications → Meteopolis, make sure Time Sensitive Notifications is on.
- In iOS Settings → Meteopolis, keep Live Activities on.
