Terms of use

These terms are the agreement between you and us when you use Meteopolis. We've kept them as short and plain as we can.

The short version: enjoy the app for personal use. Subscriptions renew until you cancel them in your Apple account. City scenes are AI-made art, not maps, and forecasts can be wrong, so for safety decisions always follow official warnings.

1. The agreement

Meteopolis ("the app") is provided by Ibrahim Issoufou ("we", "us"). By downloading or using the app you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the app. You must be old enough to agree to these terms where you live, or have a parent's or guardian's permission.

2. Your license

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as allowed by the App Store's Usage Rules. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer or resell the app, or use it to build a competing product, scrape it, or overload or attack our services.

3. Meteopolis+ and purchases

  • Free styles: some styles and core features are free.
  • Meteopolis+ is an auto-renewing subscription, weekly or yearly, that unlocks every paid style and palette while it's active. Payment is charged to your Apple account when you confirm the purchase.
  • Renewal: your subscription renews automatically at the same price and length unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
  • Cancelling: manage or cancel in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
  • Single styles are one-time purchases that unlock that style for as long as the app is offered, restorable on your devices with the same Apple account.
  • Free trials and offers, if any, are described at the time of purchase. Any unused part of a free trial ends when you buy a subscription.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple under its policies. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
  • Prices are shown in the app before you buy and may vary by country. We may change prices for future periods. Apple will notify you of a subscription price increase as its rules require.

4. AI-generated scenes

City scenes are generated with artificial intelligence, then animated on your device. They're stylized artistic interpretations, not maps or photographs. Landmarks, streets and proportions may be simplified, misplaced or invented. Don't use the scenes for navigation or for any decision that depends on what a place really looks like. Style names describe a visual look, and none implies endorsement by any artist, studio or brand.

5. Weather information is not a guarantee

Forecasts, alerts, air quality and pollen data come from third parties, including Apple Weather, and may be late, incomplete or wrong. Notifications can be delayed or not delivered. Meteopolis is not an emergency service. Always follow official warnings and instructions from your local authorities, and keep your phone's government emergency alerts turned on.

6. Sharing

You can share posters and postcards you make in the app for personal, non-commercial purposes, such as social media and messages. Please keep the Meteopolis mark on them. Using them in advertising, merchandise or other commercial work needs our written permission.

7. Ownership

The app, its design, styles, artwork, sounds, text and trademarks belong to us or our licensors and are protected by law. These terms don't give you any ownership rights. Apple, iPhone, iPad and App Store are trademarks of Apple Inc. Weather data is provided by Apple Weather.

8. Your account

An account is optional. If you create one, keep access to your Apple or Google login secure. You can delete your account at any time in Settings → Account. We may suspend or end access if you seriously break these terms or misuse our services.

9. Changes to the app and these terms

We may add, change or remove features, styles or content, and may stop offering the app. If we end Meteopolis+ while you have an active subscription, you won't be charged for further renewals. We may update these terms. The date below will change, and continuing to use the app means you accept the new version.

10. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent the law allows, the app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We don't promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free or always available.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the app or its weather information. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you, and nothing here limits rights you have under consumer protection law.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts there, unless the consumer protection law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring claims in your local courts.

13. Apple App Store terms

If you got the app from the Apple App Store:

  • These terms are between you and us, not Apple. We, not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and its content.
  • Your license is limited to Apple-branded products you own or control, as allowed by the App Store Terms of Service Usage Rules.
  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
  • If the app fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price, if any. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation for the app.
  • We, not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the app, including product liability claims, claims that it fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer protection or privacy claims.
  • If a third party claims the app infringes their intellectual property, we, not Apple, are responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.
  • You confirm you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as "terrorist supporting", and are not on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you.
