An aesthetic weather app is one designed to look good as well as forecast accurately: a coherent visual style, type you'd choose yourself, and widgets that match your home screen. Meteopolis goes further and draws your actual city as a 3D miniature under its real weather, in 45 art styles, free to start.
What makes a weather app "aesthetic"?
Most weather apps are dashboards: a number, an icon and a stack of charts. They're useful, but none of them looks like it belongs to you. People searching for an aesthetic weather app usually want four things:
- A consistent look. Colors, fonts and icons that belong together, not stock clip art over a photo.
- Widgets that match the home screen, so the weather sits next to their other widgets instead of clashing with them.
- Something worth looking at. A scene or illustration that reflects the real sky, not a static background.
- No compromise on the forecast. Hourly, the week ahead, UV, wind and alerts still have to be right there.
How Meteopolis does it
Meteopolis starts with the thing you care about most, your own city. It's drawn as a living isometric miniature with its real landmarks, and it follows the real weather: sunlight in the morning, wet streets in the rain, snow on the rooftops, a glowing skyline at night.

Then you choose the look. There are 45 art styles, including Neon, Pixel, Clay, Crochet, Watercolor, Ukiyo-e, Stained Glass and Snow Globe, and each one restyles the whole app: the city name's typeface, the weather icons, the colors of the forecast cards and the widgets. Pick a style and everything matches.
Set up your aesthetic weather app
- Download Meteopolis from the App Store and allow location, or search for any city.
- Pick a style. Open Settings → Scene style to browse the gallery. Signature, Flat, Cartoon and Pixel are free.
- Add the widget. Touch and hold your Home Screen → Edit → Add Widget → Meteopolis. The widget uses your style. (Full widget guide.)
- Add your other cities from the Cities tab and swipe between them on the home screen.
Free and paid styles
Meteopolis is free to download. The free version includes four styles (Signature, Flat, Cartoon and Pixel), the full forecast, widgets and weather alerts. If you fall for another style you have two options:
| Option | What you get |
|---|---|
| Free | 4 styles, full forecast, widgets, alerts, sharing |
| Meteopolis+ | Every paid style and color palette while your plan is active, plus new styles as they arrive |
| Single style | Buy one style once and keep it for good |
Tip: try every style before you pay. Locked styles show your city in full color in the gallery, so you can see exactly what you'd get.
